Legislative Update
November 2020
September was a busy month.
Thirteen meetings with elected officials and 3 with candidates who are poised to win
their election. Strategy to get
all of our bills passed next
session was set and discussed
with several key legislative
supporters.
The 2020 Voter Guide is published and available on the
ABATE webpage in case you
didn’t receive it in your email
inbox.
September was full of meetings as well. Both in person,
phone meetings and of course
Zoom. (FYI. I still laugh at
zoom meetings because of the
video ad of the guy in a zoom
meeting without pants on.)
Two meetings with
Congressional representatives
– Congressman Schweikert
himself and Congresswoman
Lesko’s staff.
We took ten meetings with
state legislators to discuss the
upcoming legislative agenda.
State Senators Brophy-McGee
and Townsend. State
Representatives Lieberman,
Bolick, Andrade, Espinoza,
Carroll, Sierra, Butler and
Kern.
Took a meeting with Phoenix
City Councilwoman Ann
O’Brien.
Motorcycle Day at the
Dome: The February date we
requested was not available.
The earliest date is April 12th
on the House lawn. I made the
decision to go with that date
and we began the project
timeline.
Our November and holiday
season doesn’t look like it will
be slowing down at all either.
Lots of things we still need to
complete before session
begins on January 11th.
Don’t forget to vote.
