The Anti-Lobbyist Report
HB2051 - passed through the House
and is now waiting to be heard in Senate Transportation Committee.
SB1161 - passed through the Senate, and House
Transportation Committee and is now waiting to be heard in House Rules.
THERE - that is the extent of the lobby report.
The following report is dedicated to all of my friends that keep telling
me that I no longer write "funny" stuff !! That I'm too anal on detail !! That what
I write looses their interest !! That I tend to go on and on (bet you like that one
don't ya) !! That they no longer read my article while sitting on the john !! That
they now read it to put themselves or their kids to sleep !! That I need to relax a
little and get back to being whatever it is they think I should be !! They tell me I
should "Be Happy" !! |
|
WELL - first off I'd like to speak in my defense. It's a War Zone out
there ! Most of what I see and hear every day, would wipe the grin off a F&%#@ Monkey !
Let's just take the last 2 days for example. We should have all been
able to sit back and "Be Happy" about the numerous motorcycle related billboards being
put up around the state of Arizona. But No. Instead, I am going to be late with my
deadline on this article, because we've had to spend our time running interference with
all the confusion and questions related to the locations of these billboards. Confusion
that could have been avoided, had the lobbyists gotten this information when they asked
for it, or even been remotely involved in the decision of such.
Then - Let's go back a few weeks before that, to the last State Motorcycle
Safety Advisory Meeting, February 16th. As if us lobbyists aren't having enough trouble
getting our concerns and input taken seriously by the council, the chairman Sheila Robinson,
invoking her chairman like authorities, takes it upon herself to set "New Rules". Rules
that will not allow any of us in attendance to even raise our hand to speak and/or ask
questions at any time during the meeting. As someone else said, "What a Slap in the Face".
Steve Musgrave has written a protest to the council in our defense, so we'll see what
happens next. OH ! OH ! Please surprise me !
Then - Let's go back a few weeks before that to when I found out my land tax
was going sky high, and my garage door was leaking, and the cost of propane was busting my
butt, and the wrinkle guard buzzer on my brand new dryer wasn't working, and - OH SORRY got
off track a bit.
I think you can see where I'm going with this. What? Where am I going with
this? I haven't got a clue. BUT "I'm Happy".
Although the council has been our latest cross to bear, it's surely not the
only one. We've got people everywhere making us re-think how we do things and why we are
doing them in the first place. Now that isn't exactly a bad thing, but does it have to be
OUR OWN PEOPLE?? Come on folks!!
I'm very seriously considering having a T-Shirt made with a saying I recently
heard and can really relate to. "Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to
get me". I LOVE IT.
Now Come On. Although sometimes I'd like it to be, I'm smart enough to know,
not everything is about me! But then I ask myself WHY NOT? I'm special. I have what it
takes. I try not to piss people off, even if they piss me off first. I consider myself to
be socially acceptable. I do my best to be "politically correct", even when I'd like to tell
everyone to go F%#@ themselves. I can play nice when not provoked. I don't even have to
tell on you, IF you don't make me.
I think you can see where I'm going with this. What? Oh yeah, I already said that.
Enough already! I'm running out of I's, and this isn't about me. This is
about showing my friends I still have what it takes to write an article without Acronyms !!!
Enjoy,
